Poland Deployed Fighters Following Major news Russian Offensive on Ukraine
Ground-based air defense units and radar systems have been put on heightened alert status.
In reaction to a significant Russian offensive against Ukraine, Poland activated its military aircraft. The country has placed its air defense and radar surveillance systems on standby. This information was made public by the press office of the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
"Due to the actions of the Russian Federation targeting sites within Ukraine, military aircraft are now active in Polish airspace. In line with established protocols, the operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces has mobilized the necessary troops and resources at their disposal. Jet fighters have been deployed, and the ground-based air defense along with radar recognition systems have been set to operational readiness," the department stated around 7 AM.
The announcement further indicated that these measures are preventative in nature, aimed at safeguarding the airspace, particularly in regions adjacent to sensitive areas.
"The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is closely monitoring the situation as subordinate forces and resources remain poised for immediate action," the agency stressed.
Overview of the Major Russian Offensive on Ukraine on November 29
On November 29, Russia executed a large-scale shelling campaign targeting Kyiv. Reports indicate that this assault resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left 29 others wounded.
Furthermore, the western sections of the city lost electrical power due to the bombardment, and teams of energy workers are currently engaged in efforts to restore service.
Moreover, the adversary also targeted the Kyiv region, leading to widespread destruction and reported fatalities in various areas. The city of Fastiv faced temporary power outages as a direct consequence of the offensive.
"At this moment, critical infrastructure here has switched to backup power sources. Systems for water supply, sewage, gas, and communications remain operational. Points for emergency resilience are prepared to function," stated Mykola Kalashnik, the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration.
